Character Name: Locke
Character Age: Unknown
Character Gender: ♂
Character Appearance:
Character Digivice Appearance:
-
Far from a conventional Digivice, Locke's means of communication and evolution is actually embedded within him, directly attached to his DigiCore. The chains wrapped around his right arm and within himself are also known as the "C.Mon Chains". This for all intents and purposes makes him his own Digivice.
Character Personality: A largely complex creature, Locke is often seen as silent, brooding, and just an overall grump. This however could not be further from the truth. Well, "grump" part aside. He is very much very irritable, but that was what just came with age. Locke is both seen as untrusting and untrustworthy to most, often known to attack others for seemingly no reason. Although this is usually done due to a general difficulty with communicating with others on his part, couple that in with a general frustration for the brash, brave, and overall stupid. And you have a volatile mix waiting to go off. But if he finds someone worthy of his protection, he would gladly treat them as a member of his "pack", perhaps even family. If he saw family as a prime directive that is.
Surprisingly however, he had actually seemed to calm down in recent years. Be this due to time passing, having a genuine admiration for humans, or just his behaviour frequently landing him into situations he would rather avoid remained to be seen. Although, his time in the Old World did allow him to find some degree of interest in Old World culture, particularly their music. Sometimes allowing those nearby to hear what seems to sound like a pained rhythmic humming from atop the trees or within the solitary vacuum of the unforgiving cosmos when the moon is bright, as if clamouring for something long lost. While his attempts at "humour" tend to fall flat, and his naming sense remains as terrible as before, this ancient Digimon has been doing his best to adapt to the times and dire situations.
Character History: The history of this lone Digimon is a long one. So long in fact, it would be unable to be written anywhere near as cohesively as it should be. Regardless, Locke's is a story that spans generations. Multiple of them even. Having spent all of his long, long life bound to protect one particular woman by some instinctive drive within him. Although there always seemed to be a limited time to do so, having always (for one reason or another) found himself waking up one day with no memories outside of this one instinct and this one person, to protect and serve, no matter the cost. Although, more recently... That is, long before Line Runners and long before the solar system became what we know it as today. He had seemingly... Stopped.
While he still protected this woman with his life from rogue Digimon to something as simple as a speeding car after the Old and New Worlds met, he found himself no longer waking up without any memory, without this seemingly endless cycle dragging him back down into the abyss of ferocity and anger. This (understandably) filled the stoic Digimon with an unseen sense of dread and concern for the first time in his long life, "When will it happen?" he would wonder. He knew it would eventually, it always did. But that was just it. "It" never happened. Having gone from a rogue, a wanted man, a ferocious animal to a more... Residential type. Locke found himself at the forefront in defending his kind against the ensuing riots against the Digital presence following the merge, it disgusted him. Humans disgusted him. His own kind disgusted him. But what he felt to be the worst part of all, he enjoyed the ability to go all out against what he deemed to be a massive threat, to be so "uncontrolled" in this moment of chaos. Looking back on it now, it made him sick. After the "Digital Rights Act" was put into effect, Locke lived his life quietly. Spending his time with those he felt closest for in Akibahara, rumoured to be the initial source of the New World's presence in the Old. Of course, residential life was far too boring for someone like him. Causing him to become some form of stalwart, masked protector in the face of those who remained aggressive even in times of peace.
With seemingly no "reset" in sight, the passing years allowed Locke to begin to develop his own sense of self. Dare I say "personality" even. While he remained as standoffish as ever, he began making jokes (or what he understood as "humour" at least), with firm likes and dislikes becoming prevalent, strawberries were a definite favourite while sprinkles were firmly believed to be the glitter (I.E "cancer") of the food world. Although how he actually ate with his mask permanently on remained a mystery. The fox Digimon's personal growth had even gotten to the point of allowing him to take interest in things once seen as "illogical" or "a waste of time" (understandably met with a few judgemental "hmm"'s from those close to him), such as music. Said interest coming from accidentally wandering into the audience of an idol group performance.
Unfortunately however, these years of pleasantries did not seem to last long. With talks of war on the rise, he had to be cautious. Lest everything he built up until this point be mercilessly ripped away from his claws. Understanding the risks and dangers, Locke allowed himself to indulge in the art of life or death combat once more. Affiliated with no particular side, he simply tried to keep some degree of balance in the world. And well, regrettably you can see how this turned out in the end. Spending the entirety of the war in combat, Locke once again lived out his purpose. Albeit in a more... General sense. While he still guarded this woman and close friend with his life, he also broadened himself to protect the weaker half of a stronger whole. Providing support wherever needed, near or far. This of course caused him to miss the news of the passing what he still reluctantly called his "first (human) friend", not even being aware of the existence of his most recent offspring, at least what they were like outside of infancy. Knowing his "other" one all too well.
With rumours of the "Next Life" project on the rise in his travels proving to be true, he desperately began his journey back to where he last sensed the one he was intended to protect. Even if he failed to be saved by it, he needed to make sure that she was one of those allowed to escape. But when he arrived, she was not there... He tried desperately to find her, making his way through every location he could remember them being together in with a literal end of the world scenario surrounding him wherever he went. It was situation of desperation that he hadn't felt in a long time as he reached out to what he thought was the one he had been tasked to protect, be it actually her or just a presumably final glimpse of what he had come to consider his closest friend and ally until... Nothing. With a loud thundering roar he was soon left in the cold, unforgiving vacuum of space. Motionless. It was funny, in the past Locke had always been one to value being alone over anything else. But now all he wanted was for someone, anyone to give him the time of day. That is, what he could assume to be day. With the only sense of voice to keep him company being the thoughts of the chains embedded into his core, the fox Digimon drifted endlessly through the stars at the full mercy of the cosmos. All he was able to do was just hold on to the thoughts of those he chose to protect, and to think of the songs of the Old World.
As the piles of scrap shifted around him and formed together, after presumably years of solitude Locke was presented with the chance to find those he cared for once more. Taken in by this new... "super colony"'s gravitational pull, he soon commandeered a red vehicle of some kind and was once again on the search for the one he spent so long trying to protect. With no reset or memory loss in sight, the cycle was destined to be broken.

Ship Lay-out:
- Cockpit (Obvious), adorned with various navigation consoles and controls. With the mandatory music player of course.
- Bunks, two small-ish rooms with beds embedded into the walls of the ship with enough room for six total, three per room.
- Engine Room, as expected this is where the engine is. As well as other crucial elements that power the ship.
- Dilapidated Room, what (completely legitimately) attained EXA-Line would be complete without a busted room worn down by time. It was presumably where the weapon systems were once house and maintained, long gone with the passage of time and general mistreatment.
